    When it comes to booking accommodation in Alpe d'Huez, it can be difficult to know where to base yourself as there are several different villages that link to the Alpe d'Huez ski area as well as the seven different 'quartiers' (districts) of the resort itself.

    In Alpe d'Huez itself, Cognet lies at the top of the resort, Bergers is close to the Altiport, Jeux is in the centre of town, Outaris, l'Eclose and Passeaux are at the bottom of resort and Vieil Alpe lies around the tourist office in the centre.     Most of the residences/aparthotels are split between the Bergers and the Jeux, although Bergers is further from the centre, both these locations are ideally situated at the foot of the beginner ski slopes. Cognet is home to the majority of the hotels, sitting along the bottom of the Signal piste (which is also open for a bit of night skiing every week). Larger hotels for group or event bookings are located in the Vieil Alpe district. Most of the bars and restaurants are in this central district along with a variety of apartments, chalets and hotels.

    There are also a number of separate villages connected to Alpe d'Huez by ski lift.

    Huez Village - Located just below Alpe d'Huez

    Huez is a small traditional village that offers a quieter holiday away from the apre-ski life that you find in Alpe d'Huez. There are a couple of hotels and bars, and it is linked to the main resort by the Televillage gondola.

    Vaujany - An idyllic village tucked away behind Alpe d'Huez

    Vaujany hosts a choice of cosy chalets, a handful of hotels and some attractive apartments. All lie within a short distance of the village's facilities and ski lifts due to the resorts small size.

    Oz en Oisans - Modern resort with a traditional village atmosphere

    Oz en Oisans is a traffic free resort and is designed for pedestrians so the village is small enough to navigate on foot. There is a limited choice of apartments, chalets and hotels to choose from. 

    Auris en Oisans - Small family friendly ski resort

    If you are holidaying with your family and fancy somewhere smaller and cosier than Alpe d'Huez, then Auris is a great option. All residences are close to the lifts as well as the leisure and service facilities.

    Villard Reculas - A haven of peaceful chalets

    Villard Reculas is a traditional village linked to the Grand Domain and has a handful of chalets and traditional hotels.
