Sunny weather ahead of Christmas in Alpe d'Huez
Resort shifting into high gear
After loads of snowfall the last few weeks, the clouds have finally parted and everyone's been out enjoying the sun and perfect snow.
Since the sun's come out it is a bit warmer but, all in all, temperatures have been low enough to keep the snow nice and soft. Alpe d'Huez has slowly been getting busier but the main crowds will arrive next week for the Christmas and New Year's holidays.
46 pistes and 29 lifts are open, with the remainder set to open soon as the holiday crowds arrive. Avalanche risk remains high at higher elevations so be careful when venturing off-piste.
