The hugely popular Dutch charity race "Alpe d'Huzes" is back for its 12th year, with in the region of 4000 people set to take part again.

The main event takes place on 1st June and sees participants raise as much money as possible to contribute to the fight against cancer. They do this by running, walking or cycling up the legendary 21 bends up to six times in one day - no mean feat by anyone's standards.

Leading up to and for a few days after the event, there will be heavy traffic on the roads around the area, which will be particularly bad from 27th May to 3rd June.

On 31st May there will be traffic interruptions between 10:00 and 15:30.

On 1st June for the main cycling event, the road between Bourg d'Oisans and Alpe d'Huez will be completely closed from 04:30 to 20:30.

The event organisers thank you for your understanding.
