There’s loads going on as the French school holidays continue for another week or so in Alpe d'Huez.

Whether you fancy a trip to the ice grotto, trying curling or visiting the museum, there’s always plenty going on away from the slopes.

Here’s your guide to the latest entertainments in resort up to 28th February 2017.

Wednesday 22nd February

  • 9.30am to 11.30am – Boardercross competition for under 16’s up at the base of the DMC slope. Free to enter
  • 10am to 12pm – Glass painting workshop at the museum. €5 per person
  • 10am to 1pm – Ice garden and games at the ice rink. For 5 to 12 year olds. Free entry, but skate hire is required
  • 2.30pm – Guided tour of the historic church of our lady of the snow. 1 hour 30 minutes in duration. Open to all. €5 cost
  • 5.30pm – Guided visit and tour of the museum of local Huez and Oisans region. 1 hour 30 minutes in duration. Open to all. Free entry with a carte premium pass or €5 without a pass
  • 6pm – Badminton tournament at the leisure centre. 12 years and over. 2hour duration. Free entry
  • 6.30pm to 7.45pm – Fabulous fireworks, ski demonstration and torchlight descent at the signal slope at the top end of town

Thursday 23rd February

  • 10am to 1pm – Ice garden and games at the ice rink. For 5 to 12 year olds. Free entry, but skate hire is required
  • 10.30am – Guided tour to the summit of the Pic Blanc at 3300 metres. 2 hour duration. Open to all. €2 cost
  • 4pm to 7pm – Local produce market in front of the ice rink in the main street
  • 4.30pm to 7pm – Musical wandering jazz band playing all around town
  • 5pm – Night luge on the floodlight Eclose slope, behind the leisure centre. For 8 years and over. Free with a lift pass or €1.50 for 1 run or €5 for runs without a lift pass
  • 5.30pm – Indoor adults football tournament at the leisure centre. Free entry. 3 hours duration
  • 5.30pm – Night/floodlight skiing on the Signal slope at the top end of town until 7.30pm. Free with your lift pass or €11 without a lift pass
  • 6.15pm – Classical music concert at the church, behind the leisure centre. €10 entry or €5 for students, over 65’s and carte premium holders
  • 6pm to 8.30pm – Children’s table tennis tournament at the leisure centre. Free entry

Friday 24th February

  • 10am to 12pm – Calligraphy workshop at the museum. €5 per person
  • 10am to 1pm – Ice garden and games at the ice rink. For 5 to 12 year olds. Free entry, but skate hire is required
  • 2.30pm – Discover curling session at the ice rink – 1.5 hour minutes in duration. Free entry
  • 6pm to 7pm – Ice skating gala at the ice rink. Free entry
  • 6pm to 8.30pm – Indoor football tournament for under 16’s at the leisure centre. Free entry

Saturday 25th February

  • 10am to 1pm – Ice garden and games at the ice rink. For 5 to 12 year olds. Free entry, but skate hire is required

  • 7pm to 9pm – Ice hockey demonstration and exhibition at the ice rink. Free entry

  • 10am to 1pm – Ice garden and games at the ice rink. For 5 to 12 year olds. Free entry, but skate hire is required
  • 5.30pm to 7pm – Children’s creative workshop at the museum. €5 per person
  • 6pm – Welcome drinks at tourist office in the old town. 1 hour duration. Free entry
  • 6pm to 8.30pm – Adults table tennis tournament at the leisure centre. Free entry
  • 6pm to 8.30pm – Badminton evening at the leisure centre. For 8 years and over. Free entry
