Creperie Bretonne Restaurant Review

Traditional French Crepes with Sweet or Savoury Toppings

featured in Restaurant reviews Author Megan Wallwork, Accounts Manager Updated

Alpe D’Huez offers a massive range of options at lunchtime, with lots of very reasonable fast food style places, some beautiful mountain restaurants serving local specialities and a range of other restaurant options all over the town.

Visiting on a very sunny day and wanting a quick lunch, my priorities for my choice of restaurant were to catch some rays, to enjoy a nice view and to be in and out quite speedily.

So, I chose la Creperie Bretonne, with its large outdoor seating area overlooking the mountains opposite and in a good position to watch the world go by.

The creperie has a large menu of savoury and sweet pancakes, but also salads and some of the classic mountain cheesy dishes such as Tartiflette. The main course crepes start at around 7€ for 2 ingredients and are very generous in size! I opted for one of the house specialities which came with ham, mushrooms, cheese and an egg at 10.20€.

The service was very quick, the waitress was really friendly and spoke good English. The food was great and the atmosphere was very relaxed.

Not quite ready to leave the lovely sunny spot, I ordered a tea to finish and was pleasantly surprised by the extensive tea menu that I was given. Turns out this little creperie is also a great, relaxing stop for a nice cup of tea, whatever kind you fancy!

I would recommend the Creperie Bretonne for a good sunny lunch, a vin chaud, hot chocolate or tea stop or for an après ski snack and beer
