Alpe d'Huez Dump Alert: 4th April 2019

As predicted, it started snowing around midday on Wednesday, setting on the ground at around mid-afternoon. The snow got heavier as the evening went on and around 25cm has fallen at resort level with more on the higher slopes.

The snow has fallen all the way down to an elevation of around 1000m, so all the slopes of the ski area have received a welcome late-season top-up. Avalanche risk will, no doubt, rise this morning while the pisteurs make the area safe.

A further 10cm is forecast for today before the return of the sunshine on Friday.
