Visitor comments

  • "This is a great chalet, it's comfortable with a welcoming lounge and log fire, rooms are comfortable, plentiful hot water. The four-course dinners were tasty and varied and we enjoyed the cheese history every night. Excellent hosts and we enjoyed dinner with them a couple of nights too. Good helpful knowledge with ski routes and an emergency needle and thread for repairing ski clothes! Would recommend to everyone who is wanting a relaxing chalet and excellent ski resort." - Trip Advisor
  • "With a team of 16 skiiers, finding a suitable chalet was not easy this winter, But we did - and what a positive surprise! Pieter and Therese runs a very cosy and nice accommodation serving great breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner! The service was extremely good and better hosts you cannot find! We even got help with getting ski passes and a really good discount at the ski shop nearby. The rooms are nice, tidy and outside there is a jacuzzi...a warm evening bath looking at the snow-clad mountains is just great! The view from the chalet balcony was also stunning! Getting to the Vaujany gondola is easy as the ski-bus stops 40 meters from the chalet. I can only give Solniege a GOLD medal with honour - this is THE place to stay at!" - Trip Advisor
  • "We spent a week at Chalet Solneige for a skiing week over the February half term. Our hosts Therese and Pieter were so hospitable, made us feel so welcome and cooked us amazing food every night. The chalet is in a little village called Pouchery about a 5 min, simple drive to the ski lifts of Vaujany. This quiet little village gives excellent access to the local slopes and to those of the larger Alpe d'Huez area. We rented the main chalet and were in a group of 15 half board. Pieter and Therese prepared a wonderful breakfast every morning - cereal, eggs, croissants, cheese, ham, fruit, etc. Perfect. We then left for the ski slopes and rented our skis at Ride for Life which was recommended by Therese. It is the nearest ski hire to the main lifts and we got a discount by being guests at Solneige as well as heated lockers to leave our skis. Perfect so that we didn't have to carry our ski equipment back and forth each day. When we returned after a hard day skiing we had a different cake and afternoon tea waiting for us each evening in the living room in front of the log fire. The children had dinner in the TV room at about 18:30 and the adults ate at 20:00 in the main dining room. The food was superb. 3 courses plus cheeses to finish. Alcohol was extra but very, very reasonably priced. The rooms all had an ensuite and were clean and spacious. We comfortably slept 15. I can not praise this place enough. Check out the hot tub also. Kids loved it. It is one of the best holidays we have ever had and we will be returning there again. My daughter summed Therese up when she said "She's really nice daddy". Great hosts, great food, great location. What else is there to say." - Trip Advisor
