Ofe X day 2016 in Alpe d'Huez

A chance for children of 11 to 14 years to spend time with ski cross legend Ophélie David

This weekend sees the return of “OFE X-Day” a ski-cross weekend for youngsters here in Alpe d’Huez.

Children between the ages of 11 and 14 will get the opportunity to learn about ski-cross skiing and racing from the very best in the field, Alpe d'Huez's very own golden girl Ophélie David.

Ophélie is a former world champion and 4 times X-Games champion, a legend of ski-cross, plus she's a genuinely lovely person. Only last Friday after she had been to Pilates she popped into the gym when I was in there to say hi to everybody!

Starting at 9am on both Saturday and Sunday at the snowpark, youngsters will learn the skills and put them to the test in ski-cross contest down to 1,850 metres and the bottom of the DMC lift station.

Ski-cross is considered a freestyle event as it takes consists of not only a race against the clock but also against 3 other competitors, down a course that includes banked corners and plenty of bumps and jumps along the way.

So why not get you children involved in this once in a lifetime event and have great fun at the same time.
