This trio of climbers, Benjamin Brochard, Jonathan Joly and Fred Degoulet, took the chance of a good weather window to open this new route of the wonderful north face of the Pic Sans Nom.

The Pic Sans Nom sits at a height of 3,913m in the Ecrins National Park, amidst a mass of steep mountains that run south west from Mont Pelvoux to the Ailefroide. On Monday 19th October the three friends, who opened the "A trois c'est mieux" route on the north face of Gramusat last winter, set out to tackle this new route.

After 1000m of climbing in technically and tricky conditions, and with one more bivouac that was originally planned the trio successfully conquered this peak via it's notoriously difficult north face. The three days in the mountains were extremely intense both psychologically and physically.

You can read more about their ascent and see their photos on their website www.ecrinsprestige.com.
