The resort of Alpe d'Huez is made up of 8 small districts, or 'quartiers'; Huez Village, Cognet, Jeux, Bergers, Eclose Est, Eclose Ouest, Viell Alpe and Outarts. These are the available road and street maps you will need to find your way around.

Fairly self-explanatory really - here is the info you need to find your way around the Alpe d'Huez ski domain! Handy for planning your day and, of course, where to stop for lunch. You can either print off this copy and take it with you or pick up paper copies in resort from the Tourist Office, lift stations, hotel reception, etc... Look out for the black and yellow spots on the beginners map - the black spots denote the 6 free lifts and the yellow spots show the 26 lifts of the First Slide Days ski pass access.
Alpe d'Huez is accessed fairly easily by public transport; from Grenoble Gare Routiere (bus & coach station) you can catch a public bus to resort. Bus line 3020 will take you from Grenoble to Alpe d'Huez (via Bourg d'Oisans) and you can also use this line to get to Les Deux Alpes if you wish. Take the 3020 from resort down to Bourg and then pick up Bus 3030 which will take you up to Les Deux Alpes. There is also a daily bus from Grenoble to Bourg d'Oisans (Bus 3000), from where you can pick up either of the connecting buses to Alpe d'Huez or les Deux Alpes. Alpe d'Huez also has an in-resort bus service which runs until late at night and is free with your lift pass and there is a handy, but slow, bucket lift (with a piste beneath it) running through the resort from the Tourist Office to the main DMC lift at the top. Known locally as the 'lobster pot', it doesn't run in the evenings.
