Le Dahu Grille Restaurant Review

Traditional Restaurant Serving Homecooked Local Dishes

featured in Restaurant reviews Author Jan Ogorzalek, Ski Editor Updated

I always like to find restaurant slightly off the beaten track as they usually serve better food and offer better value for money. When I saw the Dahu Grille tucked away at the top of the high-street with a group of local firemen eating the lunch special I had no doubt I'd found another hidden gem.

It started well. The lunch menu was 3 courses, cost 15 Euros and offered some unknown to me local specialities. Perfect. The starter was a tasty salad with pastry parcels that were filled with a potato and cheese filling. The main was 'Anduillette' served with rice, creamy sauce and a little side salad. It looked great, but unless you like intestines wrapped in stomach lining I would suggest avoiding Anduillette. Having eaten very little, I had time to do a quick internet search while I waited for my desert and it revealed results like 'The dish of death' & the modestly put 'culinary challenge'. It appears I'm not alone in preferring not to ever see an Anduillette ever again!

Fortunately the desert arrived quickly and the sweet apple creme brulee almost washed away the taste and texture of the small bite of main course.

In summary, great little restaurant but avoid Anduillette unless you are feeling extremely brave!
