After we April Fooled about summer skiing in Alpe d'Huez, it seems like we may of hatched a new idea, as Alpe d'Huez have decided to open for summer skiing. The resort will be open for a very limited period from the 30th of June through to the 1st of July and all skiers will need to sign-up beforehand.

The Pic Blanc at 3300 metres will be open for summer skiing, the first time in 7 years since the resort officially ended it's summer ski season.
Nevertheless the heavy snowfall this winter has meant a great snow-pack high up and the ski lift company will be opening the Glacier and the Tunnel piste to skiers.
Pre-inscription is necessary, skiers need to sign-up before the 28th of June to be in with a chance to ski the Sarenne this summer.

This also marks the launch of the Alpe d'Huez season pass sale - which is at a early-bird rate of € 499 instead of the € 699 normal rate.
